Excessive moisture can lead to warping, mould growth and other problems that affect the durability of the floor. Level: The subfloor must be level to provide a stable foundation for the flooring. It should be within 3/16" over a span of 10 feet and no more than 1/8" over 6 feet. The use of a levelling compound can help achieve this and provide a level surface for the installation of the flooring. Structurally sound: A stable and sound subfloor is essential. It should be free from signs of water damage and have no areas that squeak or creak. Structural integrity is essential to prevent future problems and ensure long-term performance.
